It’s Picture Time!

Posted by on January 1, 2010

We’ve done a lot of fun stuff over the past few weeks that I haven’t mentioned in my blog. Not only was it the holiday season, but it was the end of the semester as well. So I thought I’d do another picture post to keep you updated!

This is a self portrait. I had to take it twice because in the first one I had, like, four chins.

This is me with Jennifer. She is one of my writing students but we've also become friends. We have a lot in common and she likes to read almost as much as I do! This was taken on Christmas at a local restaurant.

This is me and most of my Speaking Class students. On the last day of class we had a little party and did traditional Christmas games such as a yankee swap and pin-the-nose-on-Rudolph. (I had to explain who Rudolph was first as they didn't know him!)

We had our own private room (which was probably a good thing considering all the noise we made.)

Christmas was a work day, but afterwards Autumn (next to me) took the foreign teachers out for dinner at a fancy 'western' style restaurant.

We all got steak for dinner. It was grisly, pounded flat, and not very flavorful. But it was my first steak in over 4 months so I'm not complaining. The Chinese people with us didn't like the steak because there were "no bones in it."

This looks more like a traditional Japanese winter scene, which was what Ryan was going for when he took the picture.

We actually had snow a few days after Christmas which was very rare! Even though I would consider it only a 'dusting' many of the kids had never seen snow before so there were lots of mini snowmen and snowball fights happening.

We also made some snowflakes on our own. This is fellow teacher Morten showing off his masterpiece.
