It’s Chinglish Time Again!

Posted by on April 17, 2010

I always have my camera at the ready to capture the hilarious Chinglish I see throughout my day. Here is a random assortment of things I’ve seen recently.

That is the grossest 'big bucket of vanilla sauce' I've ever seen.

They might look pretty, but stay away from these flowers!

This bottle of brandy was selling for a few hundred dollars. Too bad they spelled 'blandy' instead of 'brandy' on the label.

Sorry for the blurry photo. It says "how delicious it can not be forgotten, special taste, return the true flavor.Give you the infinite feeling."

I love this name so much I want to name a Moo-Cow character after it.

What kind of animal will Nibbles Grackers be? Perhaps a grackle? Is “gracker” a portmanteau word made from “graham cracker”?

The world is waiting for answers to these and other vital questions.

    Blandy goes well with Vodk-eh.

I was thinking like a hedgehog, or a dragon. And someday I hope to know enough Chinese to be able to read the original packaging and figure out what they are really trying to say!

I think if you do make him (sounds like a him) a character you’ll have to get rid of one of the S’s. Both Nibbles Gracker and Nibble Grackers flow better than Nibbles Grackers.

As to the creature, why not a Giant or Red Panda?
or, just cause the name: Inquisitive Shrew Mole
or a kiang, the largest of the wild asses. You always have to be careful of those wild asses.

(Someone’s been spending a bit too long on Wikipedia.)
