I passed by a friendly woman whose family I buy fruit from and stopped for a minute to chat. She was standing in front of a cooler she had dragged out from her store a little down a side street and she was selling cold watermelon cut up into containers
Okay, I click-baited you with that title. It wasn’t a lousy light show at all, it was quite spectacular but “…and all I got was this spectacular light show” isn’t how the t-shirt goes, so there you have it. So yeah, July 1st was the 100th anniversary of the founding
If I’d seen a T-shirt like this a few years ago – I probably would’ve thought, “Another rebellious teen.” I went to college back in the day. I’m still proud of working my tail off to get it – but honestly, the world has changed so much.
This morning my husband and I were having a chat with a very nice couple. She told us she’s going to college to get a business degree – paying $1,800 USD per class. I said, “Why would you do that when there’s so much online available free?”
Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard to become a billionaire with MicroSoft. Mark Zuckerberg did it even faster with Facebook. Yes, they worked their tails off – but maybe, just maybe they wouldn’t have gotten there at all with a traditional academic background. Going forward I say, “Get your education online for free – or almost free.” Traditional college degrees and a dinosaur if you’re interested in business.
