The Year of the Bullet Journal!

Sorry for a New Years post a few days after Jan 1st, but things have been a little rough over here in the Becky household. I ended up going in and out of the hospital the last few weeks of the year and I was too tired to do anything but sleep and sometimes eat. (You can watch this video to see more about that.)

But to help my recovery along, Azhi and I went to get milk tea and sat and reminisced about the year. I’m slightly anal very organized and I keep a meticulous diary, habit tracker, to-do list etc. I actually make my own diary, it’s called a Bullet Journal, and unlike most people that start one, I actually continued using it everyday.

So now at the end of the year I have a lot of data. Here are some of the results:

Books read: 67
Movies watched: 119
TV Series watched: 62 (full seasons, not just a few episodes)
Countries (and autonomous regions) visited: 7
Days I took 10,000 or more steps: 170
Days I did creative writing: 177
I also spent about 2 months total sick this year, not only did I start and end the year in the hospital, but I had major cold and flu’s throughout. 2018 was clearly not the year of health for me.

I feel both slightly proud and slightly embarrassed about how many hours I wasted watching movies.

But I did a lot of amazing things. I started my Youtube channel (please subscribe!), I was hired by China Plus America Facebook page to make videos about my life in China (in fact they hired me again for 2019, more on that soon!), I organized a successful foreigner training camp in China, had another Becky Cup, met and interviewed top badminton pro players. So I guess a little poor health was a proper price to pay for such a full year. I’m a lucky gal.

You can watch my video about my year in review here and have a happy new year!

And I can’t let the new years pass without saying thank you to you! With all my other writing and, blogs and youtube channels this blog has gotten slightly neglected, but

When I first came to China, 13 years ago, we didn’t have things like smart phones and instant translation apps. In a way I’m grateful, as it forced me to learn Chinese to do the most basic things like order off a menu or read an address. But of course,

Late here. Came from your badminton blog. Wow! That was a lot of books read and movies watched. I am not a movie buff. But have been slackening a lot on reading since starting practising law some years ago.Do you watch Chinese period dramas? Not so into modern Chinese TV dramas though.
