    Hi,Becky
I am from Lang-8 and we recently established a new global platform called “HiNative”
Because this service is focusing on the fluency and whether an expression sounds natural. You can ask like this https://hinative.com/en-us/questions/35570(is this natural是像五年的中国?)and this per-established question https://hinative.com/en-us/questions/36071%EF%BC%88what(what is the difference between A and B) will be helpful for you too! Hopefully you have a look at this app and give me some feedback. Thank you.
By the way, I am actually one of the huge fans of you~ It seems so fun to be surrounded by “your children” all the time~

Becky, rather than go into a long, convoluted explanation about this . . . please do go to Amazon and check a book titled SMALL FOOTSTEPS IN THE LAND OF THE DRAGON, GROWING UP IN CHINA. I suspect it’s the only book in the world that’s the memoir of an American kid growing up in pre-war China. Pangea now publishing it has done a fantastic new cover which can’t yet be shown because book is in the hands of reviewers. You’ll find it elsewhere under Barbara Brooks Wallace . . . that’s me, the author. I think loving China as you do, you’ll really get quite a kick out of this memoir, and would be nice if you spread the word around wherever you can about the book. (Wouldn’t be surprised if you’d ever read PEPPERMINTS IN THE PARLOR in school . . . now in print for some 35 years!)
But would be very grateful to know this message has reached you.
And you WILL have fun reading SMALL FOOTSTEPS. Guaranteed!

Hi Becky – Your blog was referred to me by a friend who also recently wrote about Gylangyu in her blog. What a beautiful place! I’m sure glad to find out about it and hope to come visit one day. I like what you say about the misunderstanding of China by westerners and want to learn more about that. I’m an investment advisor who is concerned about the currency wars that are going on with central banks around the world printing money to accommodate their debts and gain an edge in global trade. So I am curious about an American living in China with regards to banking and financial issues. Do you ever write about that or have any interest in money/currency type stuff?
